The year 2025 was a big one for Apple with the success of the iPhone 17 and the M5 chip, but 2026 is shaping up to be even more significant. Based on insider leaks, here is what the Cupertino giant has in store.
iPhone:
The iPhone 17e will likely be updated to fix the flaws of the first model, adding MagSafe and the Dynamic Island while moving to the A19 chip. The base iPhone 18 might actually be delayed until 2027 to give the iPhone 17 more time on the market, or it could be replaced entirely by the 17e.
The flagship iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to feature under-display Face ID, leaving only a small punch-hole for the camera. They might also debut a variable aperture camera for better light control and a new A20 2-nm chip. However, they might become the heaviest iPhones yet, with the Max reaching 240 grams.
Apple may give the thin iPhone Air another chance with a second-gen model featuring dual cameras. Most excitingly, a foldable iPhone (Ultra or Fold) is rumored for late 2026. It could feature a nearly square display with no visible crease, a 5400-5800 mAh battery, and a high price tag of $2499.
iPad:
The iPad mini 8 is expected to get a major upgrade with an OLED screen, water resistance, and an A20 Pro chip. The base iPad will move to the A19 chip to support Apple Intelligence.
Mac:
Apple might release a budget MacBook powered by an A-series smartphone chip (like the A18 Pro) to reach a lower price point. The MacBook Air will move to the M5 chip, while the MacBook Pro will upgrade to M5 Pro and M5 Max chips.
Software and Siri:
The biggest software news for 2026 is the revamped Siri in iOS 26.4. It will reportedly be powered by a custom version of Gemini 3 Pro, allowing it to handle complex tasks, understand context, and perform actions inside apps via App Intents.
Other Gadgets:
A new Studio Display with a 120Hz miniLED screen is rumored. Apple is also expected to finally launch its Smart Home Hub (a hybrid of an iPad and a speaker) powered by the new Siri. Other updates include an AirTag 2 with better precision finding and a new Apple TV with Apple Intelligence support.
