This footwear allows you to walk faster and get less tired—the sneakers work like additional calf muscles.
The American startup Dephy presented advanced sneakers at CES 2026—the electric-powered Sidekick, which acts as an additional calf muscle. Due to this, you can walk faster and get less tired.
The company says that for Sidekick to work, you do not need to download an app or calibrate the sneakers for yourself—they automatically adjust to the owner.
The Sidekick set consists of an ankle exoskeleton and a pair of the sneakers themselves—in white or black. Sidekick runs on batteries.
The sneakers will go on sale on January 25. The price is 4500 dollars (about 362,000 rubles or 4,300 euros).
Previously, Nike presented similar sneakers called Project Amplify, but their sales launch is expected only in 2028. Dephy itself is an official partner of Project Amplify.
