The company promised to restore the function in the next scheduled system update.
Earlier, reports surfaced about the implementation of a hardware Anti-Rollback mechanism in ColorOS 16, which allegedly permanently blocked software downgrades. OnePlus has now officially commented on the situation, clarifying the status of these restrictions.
The manufacturer stated that the downgrade block in the current builds for the OnePlus 13 and 15 is a “temporary measure” to improve security, rather than a permanent hardware ban.
The rollback function to previous versions will become available again with the release of the next update. For users who need to downgrade urgently, the company recommends contacting official support services.
