The “Expanded screen” feature enables mobile software streaming in a desktop format, occupying up to 90% of the workspace.
Microsoft has released the Expanded screen feature to the general public within the Phone Link app. This significantly changes how mobile programs are mirrored on a PC—previously, mirroring was only available in a narrow, vertical window.
The new option allows a connected smartphone to launch an app in a wide “tablet-style” interface and stream it to the computer. The system utilizes up to 90% of the screen, leaving only small borders. Note that some programs may require a restart to correctly switch their layout.
This update is already available in app version 1.25112.36.0. It supports devices running Android 11 and newer from brands like Samsung, HONOR, OPPO, ASUS, vivo, and Xiaomi where the “Link to Windows” service is pre-installed.
