The “tri-fold” will appear in South Korea on December 12, and in the US in early 2026.
Samsung has presented the Galaxy Z TriFold — its first “tri-fold” with an apt name. Following the Huawei Mate XT/XTs, it is the second device of this form factor on the market.

Like the Mate XT, the Z TriFold is equipped with two hinges, but they do not fold like the letters “Z/N”; instead, they fold inward like the letter “П” (a gate-fold or U-fold).
When fully unfolded, the Z TriFold offers a 10-inch display with a resolution of 2160×1584 and a refresh rate of 1–120 Hz. On such a screen, you can use three applications at once or run the Samsung DeX desktop environment in standalone mode without an external display.
The Z TriFold’s external display appears to be the same as in the Z Fold 7 — a 6.5-inch OLED with a 21:9 aspect ratio.
Each of the TriFold’s three panels varies in thickness, ranging from 3.9 to 4.2 mm. When folded, the “tri-fold” is 12.9 mm thick, which is significantly thicker than the S25 Ultra and Z Fold 7, but only 0.8 mm thicker than last year’s Z Fold 6.

The smartphone weighs 309 grams, which is 11 grams heavier than the Mate XT.
For dust and water resistance, the Z TriFold is protected according to the IP48 standard.
Hardware:
- Processor: Snapdragon 8 Elite (for Galaxy) — from the Galaxy S25
- Memory: 16 GB RAM + 512 GB Storage
- Cameras: 200 MP, ƒ/1.7 + 12 MP (ultra-wide) + 10 MP (telephoto, 3x); two 10 MP front-facing cameras
- Battery: 5600 mAh
The “tri-fold” will be released in South Korea on December 12, and in the US in early 2026. The exact price has not yet been specified, but for comparison, the Z Fold 7 sells for a starting price of $1,999 (~155,000 rubles).

Some publications and bloggers, such as Mrwhosetheboss, have already tested the smartphone and shared their opinions.
